Cross Country at Rossendale Harriers

Cross country is a major part of the autumn and winter season at Rossendale Harriers, with races available for junior and senior athletes.

The club affiliates to two leagues: the Lancashire Rose Cross Country League and the Mid Lancs Cross Country League, as well as entering a number of championship events during the season.

New for 2026/27: the Lancashire Rose Cross Country League has replaced the former Red Rose Cross Country League. The new league continues to provide a largely local programme of autumn and winter cross country fixtures.

Entry: Entry to the Mid Lancs League is free for Rossendale Harriers athletes. Separate arrangements apply to the Sefton Park fixture.

Rossendale Harriers normally enters athletes and pays the entry fee for championship fixtures. The exception is the Lancashire Cross Country Championships, where athletes enter themselves. More information will be provided nearer each event.

Age Groups & Race Selection

Cross country age groups are different this season from previous years. Steve and the club coaches will advise athletes and parents which age group applies and which races are appropriate.
