I hope your running schedule plans for the year ahead are going well and training has been successful during the festive period.
To help anyone get started, please find below a series of dates for road races running throughout the year that may be of some interest. I have also included a few multi terrain runs for anyone who likes to go off road and wants to keep their cross country legs fresh!
January:
1st – New Year’s Day awakener MT race, 5k Whitworth
20th – Inskip 1/2 Marathon (Preston)
28th – St Anne’s 10 miler
February:
10th – Muddy boots 10k, Rippon (MT)
17th – Liversedge 1/2 Marathon
24th – Terry Nortley 10mile MT (Radcliffe)
March:
3rd – Ron Hill Accrington 10k
10th – Roddlesworth Roller MT, Chorley (5.5mile)
10th – Spen 20
17th – Trimpell 20
24th – Wilmslow 1/2 Marathon
April:
7th – Manchester Marathon
14th – Radcliffe 10k
19th – Salford 10k
28th – London Marathon (for successful entries)
May:
1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd – Hollingworth Lake 5k series (Wednesday evenings)
18th – Piling 10k series starts, race 1 (Preston)
June:
2nd – Morecambe 10k series starts, race 1
9th – Edgeworth Res challenge 10k, Bolton (trail)
July:
7th – Morecambe 1/2 Marathon
9th – Cowm res 5k, Rochdale
August:
7th – Hopwood trot 5.5mile (MT)
18th – Riverside 1/2 Marathon
September:
1st – Golden Ball 10/20 miler (Lancaster)
22nd – Macclesfield 1/2 Marathon
29th – Littleborough 10k
October:
6th – Rochdale 10k & 1/2 Marathon
27th – Accrington 10k
27th – Oldham 1/2 Marathon
November:
17th – 13 Arches trail 1/2 Marathon
December:
